While still at college I came across the opportunity to volunteer at a new North London community radio station and jumped at the chance. At 18, Reach FM was my first foray into the media world and for 1 fantastic month we ran the station from a run down basement underneath a youth centre. Although just a temporary station, Reach taught me a lot and made a big impact on my future.
A while after Reach FM ended, myself and my friend Alya had a show on East London’s Break London. The LaLa Show was an hour long escapade with irreverent features, bouncy music and the occasional guest. A highlight was chatting to Seb Coe at the launch of the London 2012 Olympics but for the most part it was just two friends sitting in a studio with a bottle of wine and a microphone, such fun!
